The Queensland
Conservatorium Griffith University is Queensland's premier music school,
training professional musicians and technicians to the highest standards.
'The Con' (as it is known
to its students) is located in the heart of Brisbane's South
Bank (the very first locale to be featured on
this site), and right
next to the Queensland
Performing Arts Centre (also featured
here).
Among the Conservatorium's
impressive facilities is a 615-seat theatre, featuring a massive movable
sound shell, to allow the venue to function both as a Concert Hall and
as a Theatre. Opera
Queensland calls this venue home, and other productions are able
to hire the venue. It
is this theatre that takes the focus of this panoramic series.
