(Not actually in Brisbane
at all - this is a special feature from Cairns on the Brisbane Pan
Project website.)
William McCormack Place, a
new office building in the centre of the Cairns
central business
district, is the first commercial building to achieve the maximum
possible '5 Star' rating under the Australian
Building Greenhouse Rating system.
Thanks to close collaborative
effort between the developer, Queensland's Department
of Public Works,
architects CA Architects and Cox
Rayner, and electrical and mechanical
engineers MGF Consultants;
the building is among the most energy-efficient in Australia and serves
as a model for sustainable design even in extreme
(tropical) conditions.
This series of panoramas depicts
the building's exterior and some typical tenancy spaces, as well as
the building's 'heart', the main plant room which uses a massive thermal
wheel, chilled water storage, and heat exchangers to minimise the cost
and energy use of the building's air conditioning; as well as standby
generator to ensure zero downtime in a region known for its extreme
weather.

panoramic format is ideal for the online and print promotion
of hotels, clubs, restaurants, venues, and tourist attractions generally...
High quality prints of all
the panoramas here are also available - we can produce up to 1m wide
in-house, our outsource prints of up to (and even beyond) 3m wide. |
